Cultural History Master’s students at Utrecht University are seeking internship opportunities within our research project. Call for Collaborative Curation Final Consortium Meeting 2027

Alongside our scholarly panel programme (Call for Papers will be out soon), we are excited to create space for consortium members to curate their own special sessions. Whether you are planning a roundtable, workshop, performance, panel discussion, or another interactive format, we encourage you to share your ideas.

To help us shape the programme, we invite you to submit a short pitch outlining your proposed session, its main objectives, and how you plan to bring it to life.

While we hope to include as many proposals as possible, the number of available slots may be limited. If we receive more pitches than we can accommodate, priority will be given to proposals that demonstrate collaboration across work packages and between multiple project partners. REPAIR will Host a One-day Public Event at Pakhuis De Zwijger

REPAIR: Learning Cultural Justice from the ABC Islands is a project led by Utrecht University in collaboration with
cultural heritage organisations across the ABC islands and the continental Netherlands: Cas di Cultura in Aruba,
Fundashon Históriko Kultural Boneriano in Bonaire, the Association of Museums & Heritage of Curaçao in Curaçao, and the Eye Filmmuseum in the Netherlands.

REPAIR explores the enduring impact of colonial legacies on cultural heritage in the Dutch Caribbean. The project seeks
to challenge and reverse traditional flows of knowledge production by learning from reparative interventions developed in the ABC islands. Through these initiatives, local organisations engage with the painful histories and continuing effects of colonialism and slavery, offering valuable perspectives on cultural justice and heritage practices.

On September 22, 2026, REPAIR will host a one-day public event at Pakhuis De Zwijger in Amsterdam, where
representatives from Cas di Cultura, Fundashon Históriko Kultural Boneriano, the Association of Museums & Heritage of Curaçao, and the Eye Filmmuseum will present their projects and discuss the reparative initiatives they have recently developed. The event will also provide a public space for discussion on cultural heritage justice, bringing together
practitioners, academics, policymakers, and advocacies from the Caribbean and continental Netherlands, and the
audience.

Publication of Puzzle Book ‘Speak the Island’

Speak the Island is an initiative aimed at making the Papiamento language accessible to a wide audience. To this end, a word-search puzzle book has been developed to enable users to become acquainted with the Papiamento language in an accessible and playful way.

The book is available in two editions:

•    Papiamentu with Dutch translation

•    Papiamento with English translation
